Growing up in Cheboygan, I developed a deep passion for the unparalleled beauty of Northern Michigan—from the crisp winter air on the ice rink to the vibrant summer greens of our forests and the shimmering Great Lakes. These early experiences shaped my profound understanding of the land and the tight-knit communities that thrive here, a perspective I now bring to my career in real estate.

I'm excited to announce that my wife, Holly, and I have returned to the area, and I've joined Team Martinchek at Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices Michigan Real Estate in Traverse City!

My path back to Northern Michigan has been full of rewarding chapters. After high school, I served in the U.S. Air Force as a Search and Rescue Firefighter, stationed in Minot, North Dakota (where I learned the real meaning of "cold"), and later in Michigan's Upper Peninsula—"God's Country"—where my love for the natural world reignited.

In the UP, I earned my Master's in Forestry from Michigan Tech University, diving deep into forest ecosystems, sustainable management, and the vital human-nature connection. I built hands-on expertise with Green Timber Consulting Forestry, mastering timber cruising and assessments, before managing 160,000 acres of premium Midwest hardwood forests with Molpus Timberlands. These roles gave me invaluable insights into land use, conservation, and responsible stewardship.

Beyond work, Holly and I channeled our passion for Great Lakes fishing into launching Lake Shark Lures, a veteran-owned business crafting custom, hand-painted lures in small batches. It's been an incredible way to engage with the local angling community and celebrate our region's outdoor lifestyle.

Today, I'm thrilled to blend my intimate knowledge of Northern Michigan's landscapes, land management experience, and service-oriented mindset into helping clients find their ideal property. Whether it's a secluded hunting parcel, cozy townhouse, or serene lakeside retreat, I understand the local market's nuances and the importance of the perfect match.
